about
In DoublePlay's past releases lead singer and guitarist David Pollack served as the principal songwriter, however for this new record other members of DoublePlay and beyond have contributed songs.
The first single “White Noise” is a song written by friend of Pollack, Gabriel Schicchi over 10 years ago. Pollack admired this tune and kept coming back to it and covering it at shows. It’s a song that embodies the experience of being lost and forgotten over the static (white noise) of everyday life. This track gives off strong Radiohead vibes with a dynamic build that explodes with clanging guitars and an outpouring of frustration.
lyrics
White Noise
Untie your shoes, and fold up your glasses, everyone around has let you down.
You should’ve known better, it’s alittle too late for that. A
Loose up your clothes now don’t be romantic, I’m lost in the dark now pull me out.
Everybody knows that I’m the one who holds you back. Don’t let me hold you back
Chorus:
I’m just white noise, shut me out.
Verse: Let down your hair and slide off your jacket, another long night I wasted on you. How could you have done it to me I don’t even want to ask. Don’t let me hold you back.
I’m just white noise,
shut me out.
Verse: Say your goodbyes but you know a secret never stays stuck inside too long.
You're stuck inside anytime you'd like to leave,
just leave.
I’m just
white noise,
drown me out.
I’m just white noise, shut me out.
I’m just white noise,
Drown me, shut me out.
